Chapter 3 Math Quiz (3.1-3.4)

Here are the questions from today's math quiz. A few of them are impossible to show as drawn on the quiz, but I will describe what each student saw on the overhead.

Students were shown an angle labeled with three letters for number 7 and one letter at the vertex for number 8.

Students were shown three triangles next to one another forming a straight line. Angle Q was one of the triangle angles.

10. What is the measure of amgle S?

Students were show three trapezoid angles going around one point. Angle S was one of the angles of one of the three trapezoids.

Math Quiz 2.7

Today students took a quiz on estimation. For each problem, they were to show how they rounded the numbers as well as their estimated answer. Students should also be able to tell whether their estimate is in the 0.1s, 1s, 10s, 100s, 1,000s, 10,000s, etc. Here are the questions if you would like to review them before the test!

First Math Test Tomorrow!

Tomorrow we will have our 1st math test over unit 1. The test will cover factors, divisibility, squaring and "unsquaring" numbers, exponents, prime factorization, and prime and composite numbers. We have been reviewing for the test for the last two days. We have completed two review pages that the students should be bringing home to study. The students had some problems with the first quiz (1.5), so today we did a redo of quiz 1.5. The questions from the first quiz are still posted, and the new quiz questions are posted below. I encourage students to review both sets of questions, because it will be covered on the test.

Quizzes and Going Green

Throughout the school year our class will be taking Math Quizzes to check our understanding. In an effort to "go green", quiz questions will often be given orally or shown on the overhead projector. Students will write their answers on scrap paper. If you would like to know what was asked, check our blog. I will post the questions as well as the sections they cover. It might also be a good idea to review these questions before the chapter test. Having them on the blog will make access to this review tool simple.
